StackOverflow sold for $1.8B, but if you were to put a price on total developer productivity gains because of what their team has built, how much would you guess? $100B? Even $1 trillion does not seem outlandish. This is the simplest pro-market illustration. Capitalists are happy to capture one percent or even one permille of the value they create, and contribute the rest to the public good. But the socialists are outraged -- even 1% is too much. For them this is greed and oppression.
